Collinswood.

Collinswood began with a deceptively simple ambition: a home that would gather a growing family without ever asking them to perform for it.

Set on a generous Collinswood site, the home presents itself to the street with restraint. A grounded stone base meets a pale rendered upper level, capped by a sculpted gable that reads as a single, considered gesture. There are no flourishes here, only proportion, material and the quiet confidence of a brief honoured.

Inside, the plan unfolds around two ideas the family returned to throughout the design conversations: a private precinct for quiet mornings, and a long, generous spine for the louder business of family life. The kitchen, dining and living rooms flow uninterrupted toward the rear, drawing light deep into the floor plate and opening, when the home wants it to, onto the garden, the pool and the afternoon sun.

Upstairs, the brief asks for stillness. Bedrooms are held apart from the active heart of the home, generous in scale but careful in detail. The principal ensuite is treated as a small ritual space: natural stone, a freestanding bath, aged brass tapware warmed by the morning light.

Collinswood is a home built for the long term. It is unhurried in its detailing, generous in its proportions, and quietly resolved at every junction, the kind of home that will hold a family well, for as long as a family asks it to.
